Sky Cable, in partnership with Bayan Academy, recently concluded the Sky Cable Management and Entrepreneurhsip Core School. There were 23 participants from Sky Cable’s Management team. The training sessions were held on June 28, July 5, 12 and 19, 2018 at Bayan Academy, 825 EDSA, Quezon City.
Sky Cable believes in investing in the building and retooling of the skills and competencies of its people in order to have the right decision-making process and effectively respond to their increasing roles and responsibilities in the company. Doing this would ensure that the company’s targets and outcomes are achieved while maintaining a customer-focused environment and people-oriented processes.
Verily, the partnership’s objectives were: To familiarize the Sky Cable’s management team, particularly the branch operations center managers, on business management functions; to instill an entrepreneurial mindset among participants, especially in handling their respective branch operations centers; to enable the participants to come up with their own innovation projects after going through the four-day course.
The four-day training course, conducted under Bayan Academy’s Training of Professionals (TOP) Program, covered: Introduction to Entrepreneurship; Marketing and Conceptualizing an Innovation Project Plan; Finance for Non-Finance; and Operations and Organization Management.
The facilitators, Ms Debroah Nakpil – Rodrigo, faculty of Bayan Academy and founder of Sugar Crafts, Inc.; and Ms. Estelita “Babes” Chavez-Catacutan, Executive Director of Bayan Enterprise Developers Growers and Evolvers Inc. (Bayan EDGE), used written exercises, case discussions, brain teasers, group activities, and video clips in conveying the lessons to the participants. In addition, they consciously and consistently related the lessons to the participants’ area of responsibility by giving situations where they could use the tools they have learned in their work. This kept the participants engaged all throughout the training sessions.
