Bayan Academy receives the National Kabalikat Award on August 28, 2019 as TESDA’s Planning Unit’s outstanding partner in contributing to the advancement of Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in the country in the fields of research, publication and training.
The National Kabalikat Award honors TESDA partners from various sectors who have made significant contributions in technical education and skills development in the country.
The annual Kabalikat Awards is given to TESDA’s most active and outstanding partners who have assisted the agency in developing, enhancing and implementing training programs that have resulted in better employability of Filipino skilled workers. These include partners from local government units (LGUs); the legislative branch; the national government agencies (NGA); government-owned and controlled corporations (GOCCs); non-government organizations (NGOs); private businesses and companies; and local and international organizations.
Bayan Academy for one is not only supporting TESDA in its Training for Work Scholarship Program (TWSP) but also in the promotion of Women in STEM Programme in collaboration with International Labor Organization. Bayan Academy also supported TESDA in the development of National Technical Education Skills Development Plan (2018-2022) which was the basis of the ongoing industry-based consultation for the development of action programs and relevant training courses in support of the plan.
Mr. Philip S. Felipe, Executive Director and COO, received the award on behalf of Bayan Academy from TESDA Secretary Isidro Lapeña and Cabinet Secretary Karlo Alexei Nograles. He sincerely expressed his utmost thanks to TESDA for the recognition. He said that the award is a manifestation of Bayan Academy’s work in promoting employment to the disengaged youths and adults all over the country. Bayan Academy will continue to deliver innovative courses to prepare the country’s labor force to become competitive and resilient, Mr. Felipe added.
