At the end of the 5-day training, Dr. Morato closed the program stating, “In this kind of training, it’s not deepening, but widening. It has aroused your curiosity because you were given frameworks”.
Dr. Morato further said, “When you do that you became more engaged with more people. Now you can now ask the proper questions. In a foundational course, don’t expect a sudden change; it’s the beginning of curiosity, it translates to more questions, more engagements. Because you have proper tools, you can ask the proper questions. You’re continually teaching yourself.”
The training is part of NATCCO’s partnership project with Bayan Academy which aims to create a Cooperative Academy that will establish NATCCO as the authority on cooperatives in the Philippines. This program is being implemented in five phases consisting of Learning Materials Development and Inventory for the COOP-LAMP, Training Design and Delivery, Continuation of Learning Materials Development, Establishment of Online Knowledge Resource Center, and Creation of NATCCO Cooperative Development and Management Manual.
All throughout the five phases, Bayan Academy shall be capacitating members of the NATCCO Cooperative Academy team through monthly mentoring sessions. These sessions shall be conducted by Dr. Eduardo Morato, Jr., with the support of Bayan Academy’s pool of consultants.
