Background
The Financial Sustainability Training Program for Solar Lolas is a collaboration between FWD Life Insurance Corporation and Bayan Academy. FWD is the insurance business of Pacific Century Group. Pacific Century Group (PCG) is an Asia-based private investment group established in 1993. PCG has a strong track record of holding and developing assets over the long term, and has a network of well-established connections in Asia. The new partnership program aims to capacitate Solar Lolas, community leaders and other enablers and believers in the program on lifelong skills and develop their financial and entrepreneurship capabilities.
This training program that is a component of the bigger plan for Solar Lolas, is envisioned to instill the necessary mindset for the target participants or beneficiaries to prepare and plan for their sustainable future. DIWATA is the short name for Women in Resource Development, Inc., a non-government organization advocating the responsible development of the Philippines’ wealth in resources, principally, through industries such as mining, oil and gas, quarrying, and other mineral resources from the earth for processing. DIWATA will mobilize the particpants of FSTP.
Around 30 beneficiaries of the program are community leaders and key members in the Aeta community of Bamban, Tarlac. The training will be conducted from September 2018 to February 2019.
