Bayan Academy is envisioned to become the Center for Social Entrepreneurship, not only in the Philippines but in Asia.
To achieve this, it has partnered with various sectors and organizations committed to sustainability and development. With these collaborations, more resources are produced, more beneficiaries are given opportunities, and more social entrepreneurs rise and thrive locally and internationally.
With one of its flagship programs, BPI Sinag, and training programs for different sectors (out-of-school youth, persons with disabilities, and unemployed), Bayan Academy aims to promote and spread the social entrepreneurship model and advocacy
What is a social enterprise?
Social enterprises (SEs) focus on the triple bottom line of people, planet, and profit. This is what makes them unique and different from the model of traditional businesses.
This business must have a clear and significant market potential that exists alongside a strong socio-economic impact on its target beneficiaries or partner communities. Social entrepreneurship is a business model that is responsive to the ever-changing environment. This trait allows SEs to grow and adapt or shift when needed while staying true to their mission of supporting communities and creating impact in their respective sectors.
In an SE, the poor and marginalized become participants in economic development as workers, suppliers, customers, or owners. Social enterprises enduringly advocate for inclusive and sustainable national development.
