In 2018, the Norwegian Mission Alliance of the Philippines (NMAP) acquired the services of Bayan Academy in implementing the former’s Social Entrepreneurship Program. The program was designed to capacitate fourteen community based organizations (CBO) located in Rizal on social entrepreneurship. The first component was the Community-Based Social Entrepreneurship and Management (CBSEM) Training Program where 67 members and leaders of CBOs and NMAP’s key staff were trained. The CBOs who underwent the trainings advanced to the mentorship program which was the Community-based Social Enterprise Advising and Coaching Services (CBSEACS). The program helped them in finalizing their Social Enterprise Plans which they presented in the Community-based Social Enterprise Forum.
For this year, Bayan will conduct a follow-up program focusing on organizing and operating the CBOs. Since the year 1 intervention focused on the process of originating as most of them were start-ups, the organizing part will now require them to institutionalize their systems, structures and mechanisms as they concurrently operate their community-based enterprises.
