Background
The “Social Enterprise Development Training for CSR Officers” is a three-day publicly offered introductory course on social entrepreneurship and social enterprise development for the corporate social responsibility (CSR) officers of private corporations who are considering or starting to implement social enterprise development as a strategy for their respective CSR initiatives.
The proposed three-day learning module will provide an overview of social entrepreneurship as a concept. It will then provide a discussion of the social entrepreneurial process of seeking, screening, and seizing for social enterprise opportunities. The management functions (marketing, operations, organization, and finance) as applied in a social enterprise concern will be discussed in the context of learning before, while and after doing to facilitate simulation learning. There will be case workshops and discussions so the participants will be given opportunities to reflect on how they can directly apply the lessons learned for their budding social enterprise projects.
