PCW GREAT Women Entrepreneurship (GWEn) Training

The GREAT Women Entrepreneurship (GWEn) Training program will train 120 women micro entrepreneurs from October 2017 to November 2017 in three areas namely: Legazpi City, Albay, Iloilo City and Davao City.

In order to integrate a gender lens to the GEM module, certain constraints facing women entrepreneurs must be tackled. These constraints include lack of technical and business skills, lack of information and capital, limited access to finance and capital, limited market opportunities among others. The module on self-mastery is critical to the training as it will enhance the confidence and self-esteem of women entrepreneurs.

The design of the four-day training is presented below:

Learning to Think: Systematic vs. Creative as applied to different types of customers

Learning to Intuit as applied to selling and mobilizing people

Learning to Feel as applied to dealing with conflicts

Learning to Do as applied to planning

Learning to Lead as applied to relationship building

Learning to Be as applied to becoming an entrepreneur

Bayan Academy is now part of the convergence group of PCW. The group is made up of different government and private organizations. These organizations were brought together so as to utilize their expertise in providing assistance and interventions essential to attaining the GREAT Women Project 2 objectives. Some of the government agencies involved are the Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Agriculture, Department of Science and Technology and the Department of Labor and Employment.
