In 2018, the Norwegian Mission Alliance of the Philippines (NMAP) acquired the services of Bayan Academy in implementing the former’s Social Entrepreneurship Program. The program was designed to capacitate fourteen community based organizations (CBO) located in Rizal on social entrepreneurship. The first component was the Community-Based Social Entrepreneurship and Management (CBSEM) Training Program where 67 members and leaders of CBOs and NMAP’s key staff were trained. The CBOs who underwent the trainings advanced to the mentorship program which was the Community-based Social Enterprise Advising and Coaching Services (CBSEACS). The program helped them in finalizing their Social Enterprise Plans which they presented in the Community-based Social Enterprise Forum.

For this year, Bayan will conduct a follow-up program focusing on organizing and operating the CBOs. Since the year 1 intervention focused on the process of originating as most of them were start-ups, the organizing part will now require them to institutionalize their systems, structures and mechanisms as they concurrently operate their community-based enterprises.

To further strengthen the originating process and to fulfill the required organizing and operating activities using the SEDP as a starting point

Continuous mentoring to the 12 community-based organizations 12/12

To train choice CBO members and other stakeholders from LGU, churches, other NGOs and academic institutions on Social Entrepreneurship Management

To conduct of a 2-day forum to share experiences, best practices, and learnings

To document the entire social entrepreneurship program of NMAP via book publication
