DOZENS of trainees from Porac town finished their short-term courses under the sponsorship of BPI Foundation and Bayan Academy Tech-Voc Program at the Porac Manpower Training Center (PMTC) Wednesday, November 21.

The trainees finished courses in cookery, beauty care, industrial sewing, machine operation and automotive servicing. The graduates were presented their certifications in simple graduation ceremonies at the PMTC building in Barangay Babo Sacan.

BPI Foundation program manager Sarah Alli and associate executive director Tesa Calalang attended the said event with Porac town officials.

The Porac Manpower Training Center was set up by the town to provide training and skills development for locals here.

The programs are offered in coordination with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda).

It was in 1988 when the Porac Manpower Training Center was established under the leadership of ex-mayor Exequiel A. Gamboa who was then a vice-mayor of this town, together with former Mayor Roy L. David. Since then, the facility has offered short courses in machine sewing, auto mechanic courses, and electronic repair short courses, among others.
